An evening of life drawing paired with slow shibari performances, open to artists of all skill levels at Agora Studios.
Shibari Life Drawing: Sip N Sketch is at Agora Studios on Thursday 26 November, from 7pm to 9pm. It's a life drawing session paired with slow shibari performances, and the two run side by side throughout the evening.
Shibari is a form of Japanese rope art that brings together movement, composition and the human form, and the session treats the body as a living work of art. You'll draw from a range of positions: standing, on the floor, and in both partial and full suspension in the air. The night is split into two live tying sessions of around 45 minutes each, with a 15-minute break in between.
It's open to artists of all skill levels, and you don't need any previous knowledge to take part. Drawing materials are provided, and it's BYOB, so you can bring along whatever you'd like to drink. The venue is Agora Studios, a queer and feminist-run art space in the city centre at 12 Washington Street, G3 8AZ. One thing to keep in mind is that the studio isn't accessible—it's up two flights of stairs.
