Robert White brings his mix of songs, stories, stand-up, gags and props to The Stand Comedy Club in a show strictly for over-18s.
Robert White plays The Stand Comedy Club on Monday 2 November, as part of a tour presented by Little Wander. He's best known from his series on Britain's Got Talent, which has drawn millions of viewers online, and he bills himself as 'THAT' Gay Autistic Keyboard Tanktop Comedy Guy!'
It's a brand new show, and the format is a bit of a grab-bag. He mixes songs, stories, stand-up, gags, and props with improvisation, audience interaction and what he calls 'naughty nonsense'. The keyboard is right there in the name, so expect him to be playing throughout, with the songs sitting alongside the stand-up rather than as a separate part of the night. It's a full evening of material rather than a short set.
Critics have described him as a 'very funny, fantastic oddball' (Time Out) and a 'hyperactive man-child' among the most original (The Telegraph). Simon Cowell called him 'very unique, very quirky, very funny, very naughty'. Between the keyboard, the tank top, and the mix of styles, it's a fairly specific kind of act — the sort of thing that's easier to see in person than to explain on paper.
