Award-winning stand-up Paddy Young, star of Saturday Night Live UK, brings his new show to The Stand Comedy Club. Strictly over 18s only.
Paddy Young brings his new show, Will Sir Be Laughing Alone?, to The Stand Comedy Club on Wednesday 2 December, at 20:00. It's a rescheduled date, moved from 25 October, so if you'd already marked it in your calendar, this is the one to keep.
Young is an award-winning stand-up and a face from Saturday Night Live UK, where he recently hosted 'Weekend Update'. He's taking this brand new show on tour across the UK and Ireland, and the Glasgow stop is part of that run. It's not his first time on screen, either: he's appeared in Mitchell & Webb Are Not Helping and Everyone Else Burns, and he put out his own stand-up special, Hungry. Horny. Scared., so there's a fair bit of work behind him before this one.
The material draws on his own life. He says he's fallen in love more times than he can count and fumbled every one, and it leans on his experiences growing up in the provinces, in Scarborough, where he's from. It's the kind of set that works from the personal, and it's already had a run at the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe before heading out on the road.

Critics have been kind. Rolling Stone called him 'surely on the road to stardom', and The Independent named him 'one of British comedy's most intriguing new voices'. The show is strictly over 18s only, and tickets are £22. It's at The Stand, 333 Woodlands Rd, Glasgow, G3 6NG, starting at 20:00 on Wednesday 2 December.
