Free drop-in weekly arts and crafts sessions for children aged 5 to 17 at the Library @ the Bridge in Easterhouse.
Kids Arts and Crafts returns to Library @ the Bridge on Tuesday 6 January, starting at 3:30pm. It's a weekly drop-in session for children, running every Tuesday from that date right through to 5 January, with the only break being 22 December. If you've got kids who like making things, it's a regular spot to keep them occupied on a weekday afternoon.
The sessions are built around themed crafts, so each week brings something different. The idea is to get kids creating, trying out new techniques and letting their imagination run wild. It's not just about the making, either: there's a quick and quirky quiz to join in with, and they collect unique badges to mark what they've achieved. It's as much about meeting other kids and making new friends as it is about the art.
Knitting has become a part of the programme, and all the materials are provided on the spot, so you don't need to turn up with your own kit. There are different age groups to fit in: sessions for 5-11s, for 12-17s, and family sessions open to everyone aged 5 and up, so it works whether you're bringing one child or the whole lot. The library is part of the Easterhouse Cultural Campus, one of Glasgow's 33 libraries, and a membership card gives you access to every branch in the city as well as a 24/7 online library. The building also has printing services for public use.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Glasgow and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
