The longest reigning Edinburgh Comedy Award winner returns with his new show, inspired by a shocking train incident.
Jordan Brookes brings The Part Of You That's Always Screaming to The Stand Comedy Club on Sunday 22 November, a 4pm matinee that sits in the middle of the show's 2026 run. The run has already taken it to the Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre, and it's part of a wider UK tour.
Brookes is billed as the longest reigning Edinburgh Comedy Award winner in history, and he's earned the nickname 'the Elvis of comedy' along the way. This show was inspired by a shocking incident on a train, and it's been seen on The Russell Howard Show, The Mash Report, Avoidance and Alice and Steve. The Guardian named it one of the Top 3 Comedy Shows of 2024, and The i listed it as a Best Show at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe. Brookes himself made The Telegraph's list of the 50 funniest comedians of the 21st century.
The critics have had a field day with it, and the descriptions don't exactly point in one direction. The Scotsman called it 'absurd... achingly funny', The List described it as 'majestic and challenging', The Skinny went with 'profound', and others have called it 'artistically audacious'. If you're wondering what that actually means on stage, it's probably best to just go and see for yourself.
