Stand-up comedy show Pizazz by Christopher Hall at The Stand Comedy Club, strictly for over-18s.
Christopher Hall brings his stand-up show Pizazz to The Stand Comedy Club on Monday 19 October, with the set starting at 7:00pm. It's a solo hour, so it's just him on stage for the full run.
If you've come across him through the internet, you'll probably recognise the name before the face. Hall is a musical-theatre trained performer who spent his twenties dance-offing in Soho's gay bars and working the cruise ship circuit. He first made a name for himself as a singer, featuring on tracks with the Sugababes, Natasha Bedingfield, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Shania Twain. During lockdown, he shifted to sketches on Instagram and TikTok, which led to collaborations with Rod Stewart, Sharika and Gwen Stefani. He also appeared in the pilot of Vandullz on BBC iPlayer.
Stand-up is a newer gear for him. He took a sold-out split-hour show to the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe, and these days he's best known as one half of The Background Singer, the duo he forms with his sister Lizzie. Together they also co-host the Stay Hydrated podcast. For Pizazz, he reaches back to his younger, life-of-the-party self as the source for his material, and critics have called the result "brilliantly relatable and funny."
