Award-winning radio host and stand-up Charlie Baker brings his new show 'Go Get It' to The Stand Comedy Club.
Charlie Baker brings his new show, Go Get It, to The Stand Comedy Club on Monday 8 March 2027. If you've come across him on the radio, you'll know him as an award-winning host, best known for his work on talkSPORT and Virgin Radio. On stage, he shifts into a high-energy stand-up style built on sharp observations, and this is billed as his brand new show.
Beyond the radio, Baker has a fair few credits to his name. He's appeared in EastEnders, Doctor Who, The Last Leg and Parenting Hell, and he's a former winner of House of Games. That's a broad spread of TV and radio work to have in the background, but the night itself is a solo stand-up set.
The venue is The Stand Comedy Club at 420 Great Western Road in Glasgow's West End. It opened in 1995 and now runs three purpose-built clubs across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. It started as a hobby for a group of comedy enthusiasts and grew into a commercial company that's kept its roots in developing new Scottish comedy. That side of things is still a big part of what they do: they run Red Raw beginners' nights, improvised comedy, sketch shows, and Irish and Scottish showcases alongside solo shows from better-known performers.
