A night of laughter hosted by Chris Forbes in support of Hearts & Minds Clowndoctors, a Scottish charity supporting children in hospital.
Chris Forbes hosts a benefit night for Hearts & Minds Clowndoctors at The Stand Comedy Club on Saturday 24 October. It's a comedy night with a clear purpose behind it: every ticket sold goes directly to funding the charity's work across Scotland, with all proceeds minus booking fees and VAT going to the cause.
Hearts & Minds Clowndoctors (SC027040) is a Scottish charity that visits children in hospital who feel scared or anxious. They work to help them forget where they are for a while through connection, play and imagination, and the money raised from this night goes toward more of those visits. Forbes is a familiar name on the Scottish circuit, known for Scot Squad and The Other Murray Brother, and he'll be the one running the show.
The Stand is a West End staple, located at 420 Great Western Road (G4 9HZ). It opened in 1995 and now runs three purpose-built rooms across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle. What started as a hobby for a group of enthusiasts grew into a commercial company that's kept its focus on developing new Scottish comedy, with a programme that includes the Red Raw beginners' nights, improvised comedy, sketch shows, the all-female Wicked Wenches, and Irish and Scottish showcases alongside solo shows from better-known performers. It draws over 100,000 people a year and is regarded by many performers and critics as one of the best comedy venues in the world.
