Weekly free workshop for babies aged 0 to walking and their carers to experience contemporary art in the gallery's rooftop studio.
Art for Baby is back at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in the city centre, running every Friday from 11:00am to 12:00pm from 17 July until 19 December 2026. It's a weekly workshop for babies aged 0 to walking and their carer to experience contemporary art in a relaxed, welcoming environment. The sessions take place in the gallery's rooftop studio, which is laid out with soft foam mats and cushions and stocked with carefully curated sensory toys and books, so parents can make and chat while entertaining, soothing or feeding their babies.
GoMA itself is Scotland's most visited modern art gallery, housed in William Cunninghame of Lainshaw's imposing 1778 townhouse on Royal Exchange Squareโa building it shares with the city centre library. A 2016 restoration brought back its clock tower and weather vane, and the permanent display Stones Steeped in History traces the structure's story from 1777 to the present, including the role slavery played in Glasgow's wealth. The workshop sits within that context, bringing a very young audience into a space that holds both the city's modern art and its complicated history.

Because it's a weekly thing, you don't have to commit to the whole run; you can drop in on the Fridays that work for you. It's free, but you'll need to book in advance via Eventbrite. The sessions run from 11:00am to 12:00pm, so it's a morning slot that fits around a nap or a feed. You'll find it at the Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow City Centre, G1 3AH.
