Alfie Brown returns to The Stand Comedy Club with his critically acclaimed stand-up show The Entertainer, a show about finding meaning in life.
Alfie Brown is back at The Stand Comedy Club on Saturday 14 November, bringing his stand-up show The Entertainer to the West End. It's a one-man show he wrote and performs himself, and the premise is as direct as it sounds: a man in crisis, desperate to find some kind of meaning in life. It's the kind of setup that could go anywhere, and the reviews suggest it does.
Brown has a fair bit of weight behind this one. Stewart Lee called it 'the best thing I saw last year', and The Scotsman gave it five stars, with the review summed up as 'Wow! Fk! Wow!'. The List went for 'the future of British stand-up', while The Guardian and The Times each gave it four. It's not just the press, either — Brown took home the Chortle Best Show Award in 2022 and picked up an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination that same year, so he's coming to Glasgow with a run of critical praise that's hard to ignore.
