Live tour show in which female wildlife presenters, filmmakers and camera operators share the adventures behind the world's best-loved wildlife documentaries.
Wild Women Live comes to the Assembly Rooms on Sunday 9 May 2027, as part of a tour running across April and May. It brings together the female presenters, filmmakers, camera operators and storytellers who work behind the scenes on some of the world's best-loved wildlife documentaries. Each show features three or four speakers, so the line-up changes from night to night.
These are women who've spent their careers in the field, drawing on work for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Netflix, Discovery and National Geographic. They talk about the side of the job you don't usually see: what it's like to stand metres from a tiger, dive with sharks or camp in predator territory across some of the planet's most unforgiving environments. The stories stretch from sweltering jungles to frozen Arctic landscapes, and include filming Britain's own coastlines and countryside too.
Beyond the individual tales, the show is framed as a gathering of pioneering women who've brought female voices, experiences and perspectives to wildlife broadcasting. The idea is that these voices have helped transform both the programmes audiences watch and the way we see our planet. The tour is supported by the RSPB, RSPCA and The Wildlife Trust.
