Portland Americana band The Delines, led by Willy Vlautin, play the Traverse Theatre for the first time in Edinburgh in over five years.
The Delines play the Traverse Theatre on Sunday 21 March, their first Edinburgh show in over five years. They're an Americana band from Portland, Oregon, led by novelist and songwriter Willy Vlautin, who also fronts Richmond Fontaine, and singer Amy Boone, formerly of The Damnations. Cory Gray handles keyboards and trumpet, Freddy Trujillo is on bass, and Sean Oldham is on drums.
Their songs are built around storytelling, with a sound that blends country and rhythm-and-blues textures and lush horn arrangements. The debut record, Colfax, came out in 2014 and made more than a dozen top-ten year-end lists. The second, The Imperial, spent two weeks at number one on the official UK Americana charts. The cinematic third, The Sea Drift, was named Album of the Year by Americana UK and BBC6's Gideon Coe. Since then they've put out Mr Luck & Ms Doom in 2025 and The Set Up in 2026, which many critics called their best yet.
