The hilarious hit show about honoring a mate's last wish returns for its 10th anniversary tour, blending storytelling, music, comedy and an actual Viking helmet.
Team Viking is back at the Traverse Theatre for three nights: Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November. It's a special anniversary edition of the show, which first premiered in a tiny meeting room at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and went on to become a breakthrough hit, launching James Rowland's career as one of the UK's leading contemporary storytellers.
The show tells the story of how James gave his best friend Tom the Viking burial he'd asked for after being diagnosed with heart cancer and given three months to live. It's a true story, and it blends storytelling, music, comedy and an actual Viking helmet. Rowland describes it as a comic ode to death, friendship and the absurdity of life.
Ten years on, it's returning for this anniversary run, which is part of the Traverse's £1 Ticket Project. The production is performed by James Rowland and directed by Daniel Goldman.
