Weekly Friday and Saturday stand-up show hosted by Rick Molland at The Comedy Attic, in the attic of The Beehive Inn.
The Comedy Lock-In is on at The Comedy Attic on Friday 4 December, part of the club's regular run of Friday and Saturday nights. It's an in-person stand-up show for the general public with a casual, fun vibe, and it's hosted by Rick Molland.
The venue itself is one of Edinburgh's original pub comedy clubs, tucked away on the top floor of The Beehive Inn at 18-20 Grassmarket. The Beehive is one of the city's oldest pubs, and the club sits three flights up from the ground-floor bar. The room holds around 65 people, so it's a relatively small space, and the show runs for about two hours.
Rick Molland has been running comedy rooms in Edinburgh for over twenty years and is widely regarded as one of the UK's top comperes. He's known for roasting and for chewing up agitators and spitting them back out with furious authority; the press has noted his mastery of crowd work, which is a good thing to keep in mind if you're the sort of person who likes to shout back from the audience.
