Stand-up night headlined by Joe McTernan and hosted by resident compere Rick Molland at The Comedy Attic, the pub comedy club in The Beehive Inn.
Joe McTernan is the main act at The Comedy Attic on Friday 6 November, with resident MC Rick Molland hosting. It's part of the club's regular run of Friday and Saturday night comedy in the Grassmarket.
If you've never been, the venue is exactly what the name suggests: three flights up in the attic of The Beehive Inn, one of the city's oldest pubs and three centuries deep in the heart of the Grassmarket. The room itself is stone walls, a low ceiling and barely 65 seats, so there's nowhere to hide and two hours of unfiltered live stand-up. It's a small, tight space that puts the act right in front of you.
Rick Molland runs the night. He's a veteran of the Scottish circuit who's been running comedy rooms in Edinburgh for more than twenty years, and he's well known for his 'Roasting' — brutal comedic takedowns performed with mutual affection. He's widely regarded as one of the UK's top comperes, so the hosting is a good chunk of the evening's draw.
