Weekly stand-up show hosted by Irish comic Michael Porter with a rotating line-up of Irish, Scottish and international comics on the Royal Mile.
The Comedy Cellar is running at The Canons' Gait on Sunday 1 November, and it's one of the few comedy rooms on the Royal Mile that stays open every single night of the week. It's an underground spot in the Old Town, tucked into the basement of the pub at 232 Canongate, and it's built a following as a Fringe favourite that keeps going long after August is over.
On the night, the Irish comic Michael Porter hosts, with a rotating line-up of Irish, Scottish and international comics. Because the bill changes, you'll get a different mix of voices each time you go, rather than the same set of names on repeat. They describe it as raw, alternative comedy with a rebellious edge, and it's held a five-star rating from the people who've been in.
It's a year-round club that draws both locals and tourists, and it's one of the city's top-rated comedy rooms. If you're in town on the 1st, it's a reliable bet for a night of stand-up in the heart of the Old Town.
