Author Tabitha Webb talks about her countryside romcom 'Playing the Field' with poet and author Donna Ashworth at Waterstones.
Tabitha Webb is coming to Waterstones on Tuesday 17 November, where she'll be in conversation with the poet and author Donna Ashworth. The evening is presented by Waterstones, and the two will be talking through Webb's countryside romcom, Playing the Field.
If you haven't come across her yet, Webb is the founder of a UK fashion label and is being described as an exciting new voice in the romantic comedy genre. Playing the Field follows Eliza Fox, a 38-year-old who's down and out in London and decides to flee the city in her yellow Citroen. She ends up in the rural village of Farmington, where she becomes entangled with the local heartthrob, Luke Stanley. It's a classic city-to-country escape, and the conversation will be about the book and how it came together.

Ashworth, a bestselling poet and author, will be the one leading the discussion, so it's a writer-on-writer chat rather than a standard Q&A. The session runs from 7pm to 8pm at Waterstones on Princes Street, and there are two ways to get in: a book and ticket for £13, which gets you the novel as well as your seat, or general admission for £5 if you've already got your copy. It's on Tuesday 17 November, 7pm to 8pm, at Waterstones, 128 Princes Street, Edinburgh EH2 4AD.
