Mindfulness and soundbath session led by Elspeth from Pause to Be, with Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, Native American flute, chimes and gong.
The Wellness Barn Edinburgh hosts a Sunday Slowdown mindfulness and soundbath session on Sunday 8 November, from 2:30pm to 4pm, with doors open from 2:15pm. It's led by Elspeth from Pause to Be, and it's part of their Sound Baths collection.
The session runs in the Heart Studio, a space tucked away in a Colinton residential area at the foot of the Pentland Hills. It's a quiet spot that works as a retreat for self-care and regularly hosts immersive wellness and fitness experiences, so it's a good place to settle in for the afternoon. The session itself starts with a mindfulness meditation and a resting awareness of a personal intention, then moves through calming sounds before ending in silence. From there, it's grounding sounds and a gentle reawakening to bring you back.
Elspeth works with a range of instruments: Himalayan bowls, crystal singing bowls, a Native American flute, chimes, and a gentle gong. The soundbath is the core of the session, and the different bowls and the flute provide the textures that carry it through. Herbal teas and refreshments are on hand, and under-18s are welcome as long as they're with a parent or legal guardian. There's free parking on site, which is handy for a Sunday afternoon in Colinton.
