Stand-up show 'Stuff' by award-winning comedian Scott Bennett, who explores our love of material things and what it says about us.
Scott Bennett brings his new show Stuff to the Assembly Rooms on Wednesday 14 March 2027. It's a stand-up comedy hour that starts with a simple observation: as a society, we love stuff as a statement about who we are and who we want to be. That's a message at odds with the looming environmental crisis, and Bennett looks at the struggle to balance those two worlds while trying to focus on what brings real connection and nourishes the soul.
Bennett is a Yorkshire-born comedian and award-winning product designer, and you can hear him on BBC Radio 4. He was crowned Comedy Cellar New Act of the Year in 2011, runner-up in English Comedian of the Year in 2014, and named Comics' Comic of 2020 after staging a series of gigs from his garden shed during lockdown. Now based in Nottingham, he's built a Fringe following with shows including About a Roy (2015), Leap Year (2018), Nine Lives (2022), Blood Sugar Baby (2024) and Relax (2020).

The Evening Standard called him 'live comedy's best kept secret' and Rob Brydon described him as 'a very funny man'. Stuff is his latest, and it's the one he's taking to the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh New Town. The show starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening around half an hour earlier, so you've got plenty of time to get settled before he takes the stage. The venue is at 54 George Street, EH2 2LR.
