Fred Dinenage, the television journalist who was granted access to the Krays' inner circle, brings his stage show about the Krays to the Assembly Rooms.
Fred Dinenage is coming to the Assembly Rooms on Sunday 7 November 2027, with Ronnie, Reggie and Me bringing his first-hand account of the Kray twins to the stage. It's a one-man show hosted by broadcaster Alex Dyke, and it's built around the stories Dinenage gathered when he was given a rare look inside the twins' inner circle.
Ronnie and Reggie Kray ruled the London underworld for years before both were sentenced to life imprisonment at the Old Bailey in 1969. They were the ones who chose Dinenage to tell their official story, and he became one of the very few people ever granted access to their private circle, getting a look at the men behind the headlines. On stage, he shares untold stories and rare moments from that time, including recordings he made during his visits to Ronnie at Broadmoor.
It's billed as the definitive insight into the real lives of Britain's most notorious gangsters, and since Dinenage was there in person, it's his own account rather than a retelling of the myths. The show is recommended for over-16s only.
