Screening of the documentary Rebellion about Extinction Rebellion, followed by a group discussion.
Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre is hosting a screening of the documentary Rebellion on Tuesday 27 October, from 6 pm to 9 pm. It's a film screening and a community meal, so it's a bit more than just sitting in the dark for ninety minutes.
Rebellion is the first feature-length documentary to take you behind the scenes of Extinction Rebellion. It follows a group of unlikely allies as they come together to confront the climate and ecological emergency, and it traces the journey of XR's co-founders alongside Farhana Yamin. Yamin is an international lawyer who played a key role in negotiating the Paris Climate Agreement, and who decides to break the law for the first time in her life. If you've followed the headlines around XR, this is the story of how it actually got off the ground.
The screening is hosted by the centre, and once the credits roll, there's a group discussion to follow. It's a good chance to talk through what you've just seen with other people in the room rather than just heading home.
