Monthly book club session hosted by Bryn Sherwood with guest speakers Mark Beaumont, Jamie Aarons and Cat Magill to discuss Eva zu Beck's memoir 'The Wilder Way'.
Rebel Book Club is back in Edinburgh on Tuesday 27 October, this time at Alpkit Edinburgh in Newington. It's the city's turn to take on the 'Extreme Dreams' theme, which opens onto Eva zu Beck's memoir The Wilder Way. The book follows zu Beck's decision to travel solo through some of the world's most remote places — a horse trek in Mongolia, a desert island in Yemen — and her work building an online community around it. The evening is hosted by Bryn Sherwood, with guest speakers Mark Beaumont, Jamie Aarons and Cat Magill on the panel to explore the book and the theme.
If you haven't come across it before, Rebel Book Club has met monthly since 2015. It started with founder Charlie Harrison in London and has since grown to four other UK cities, plus Denver, New York, Sydney, Perth, Toronto and Vancouver, with a digital membership running worldwide. Every month a theme is picked and unpicked through a book, with readers invited to discuss it and then join the wider community. This particular edition is the Edinburgh chapter's turn at 'Extreme Dreams', and The Wilder Way is the book that anchors it.
