Cork shoegaze alt-rock band Pebbledash play The Voodoo Rooms on West Register Street.
Pebbledash play The Voodoo Rooms on Wednesday 11 November, bringing their shoegazey alt-rock to the city for a mid-week show. They're a Cork crew, so they'll be travelling over from Ireland for the date, and they're the sole bill on the night.
If you're not familiar with them, the description they go by — woozy, dreamy shoegazey alt-rock — gives you a fair idea of the territory they cover. It's that particular blend of distorted guitars and melodic, washed-out vocals that puts them in the shoegaze camp, with the alt-rock side keeping things grounded in song rather than just texture. It's the kind of sound that works well in a room like this, where the guitars can really fill the space.
Coming from Cork, they're one of the few Irish bands making their way up to Edinburgh this autumn, so it's a good chance to catch them if you're into that side of indie rock. The set is built around their own material, and since they're the main feature, you'll get a full run of their songs rather than a short slot on a shared bill.

It's a Wednesday night, so it's a mid-week one rather than a weekend outing. The show starts at 7:30 pm at The Voodoo Rooms, 19a West Register Street, Edinburgh EH2 2AA, and tickets start from £14.18.
