Historian Lucy Worsley reveals the secrets, stories and splendours of Britain's royal past in this engaging talk with a Q&A session.
Lucy Worsley is coming to the Assembly Rooms on Friday 23 October, with My Royal Life: An Audience with Lucy Worsley running for an hour and fifty minutes, including a twenty-minute interval. Worsley is a historian and bestselling author who spent twenty years as Chief Curator in some of Britain's most famous palaces, and this evening is built around that time behind the scenes.
She takes the audience through the royal residences she came to know so well, from Hampton Court's Haunted Gallery to the gilded apartments of Kensington Palace, and introduces Britain's best-known queens and kings, sharing what she really thinks of them. The whole thing is delivered with her trademark warmth and scholarly sparkle, lifting the lid on royal life over the centuries and revealing the secrets, stories and splendours of the royal past. There's also a Q&A with the audience, so you'll get a chance to ask your own questions rather than just listening.
