Joe Lycett returns to the stage with his new live stand-up show 'Do You Really Lycett?' at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
Joe Lycett is back on stage at the Edinburgh Playhouse on Thursday 20 May 2027, with his new show Do You Really Lycett?. It's not a one-off, either — the run continues until Saturday 22 May, so there are a few nights to choose from if Thursday doesn't suit.
If you've come across him through the TV, you'll recognise the name. He's a regular on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Taskmaster and QI, and he hosts the Channel 4 consumer-comedy hybrid Joe Lycett's Got Your Back. He also presents BBC Two's The Great British Sewing Bee, so he's probably the only person in the room who can talk about both consumer rights and a well-finished hem in the same breath.
He first made headlines in February 2020 when he briefly changed his name to Hugo Boss to protest the clothing brand's litigious reputation — a stunt that pretty much summed up his whole approach: a prankster with a cause. The comedy career itself started at Manchester University, where he won the Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2009, and he's been working his way up since. Critics have called him an accomplished storyteller, and in 2018 Ents24 ranked him seventh in their Hardest Working Comedians list.

Do You Really Lycett? is an all-new live show, so it's fresh material rather than a best-of. Tickets start from £36.74, sold by ATG Tickets, and the show kicks off at 19:30.
