The hit musical brings the iconic film to life, following Baby and Johnny as they fall in love during a summer at a resort, with performances of classic songs.
Dirty Dancing comes to the Edinburgh Playhouse from Tuesday 27 to Saturday 31 October, as part of a UK and Irish tour. It's the hit film brought to the stage, following Baby and Johnny, two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds whose summer together becomes the most challenging and triumphant of their lives. If you're familiar with the movie, you've got the gist of it: the dance lessons, the summer resort, and the slow-burn romance that builds between them.
The production leans on the movie's songbook, with 'Hungry Eyes', 'Hey! Baby', 'Do You Love Me?' and '(I've Had) The Time Of My Life' performed alongside an ensemble of dancers. It's a show built on those songs and the dancing that goes with them, so the music is as much a part of the evening as the story. The Edinburgh dates are one stop on a tour that's working its way across the UK and Ireland.
