James Grant, frontman of Love and Money, plays The Queen's Hall with The Hallelujah Strings.
James Grant plays The Queen's Hall on Saturday 27 March 2027, performing with The Hallelujah Strings. He's the frontman of Love and Money, and the night is presented by DF Concerts.
Grant's work pulls from pop, folk, soul, country and blues, and he weaves his own compositions in with Love and Money favourites. The songs pair literate, melodically lush writing with rich vocals, virtuoso guitar work and acerbic humour. The Queen's Hall describes the evening as "music to stir the heart and soothe the soul."
He's one of the most renowned and respected performers Scotland has ever produced, and the critics have a few ways of putting it: The Word called him "a ballsier Gram Parsons but with whisky-tinged Scottish poetry for lyrics", UNCUT noted his lyrics are "good enough to be read as poetry", and Mojo described his music as "music from another place". On stage he plays alongside Ewan Vernall of Deacon Blue, and over the years he's worked with Tom Verlaine of Television, Jeffrey Porcaro of Toto, and producers Gary Katz and Tom Dowd.
