British pagan goth rock band Inkubus Sukkubus, 'The Inkies', play Bannerman's in Edinburgh with support from Twisted Nerve.
Inkubus Sukkubus are playing Bannerman's on Friday 13 November, with Twisted Nerve opening the night. It's a fitting date for a band whose whole thing is the dark and the supernatural.
If you've never come across them, Inkubus Sukkubus — known to their fans as 'The Inkies' — are a British pagan goth rock band formed in Gloucestershire in the summer of 1989. Their songs pull from witchcraft, magick, folklore and death rites, and they've been at it for over three decades. That's 28 studio albums and tours that have taken them to Mexico, the USA, Australia, Russia, Turkey, Scandinavia and most of Europe, as well as national television in the UK, Greece, Germany and Finland. In 2019 they marked their 30th anniversary with Lilith Rising, and in 2025 they released She of a Thousand Names, their 27th album, which came with a PC game devised by Tony McKormack.
This year's record, Eternal Monsters, arrived on the spring equinox, and the band is touring to celebrate 37 years of making witchcraft and wonder. Support comes from Twisted Nerve, a cult Scottish gothic punk and post-punk band formed here in Edinburgh back in 1978, so there's a local connection to the bill as well.
