Touring theatre show that plays the hits of Madness, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Specials and The Selecter, celebrating the UK's 2Tone and Ska era.
House of Fun comes to the Assembly Rooms on Saturday 26 June 2027, as part of its tour across the UK. It's a theatre show that celebrates the sound, style and attitude of the 2Tone and Ska era, and the set works its way through the hits of Madness, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Specials, The Selecter and The Bodysnatchers. If you know those names, you've got a good idea of the ground it covers: the upbeat, off-beat rhythms and the brassy, danceable sound that defined the scene.
It's a touring production, so it's built to travel, and the focus is on the music rather than a narrative. The show is aimed at two crowds at once: those who were there the first time around, and those discovering the revival for the first time. That means it doesn't lean on inside jokes or a deep knowledge of the history to work; the songs do the heavy lifting. You'll hear the well-known tracks from the big names on the list, and the whole thing is designed for dancing and singing along, with hands-in-the-air choruses throughout.

It's recommended for over-8s, and under-16s need to be accompanied by an adult, so it's a night that works for families as well as for people going with friends. The show starts at 7.30pm at the Assembly Rooms, 54 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2LR. Tickets are £37.20 including all fees, or £35.20 online, which is subject to a non-refundable £2 transaction fee.
