Halloween horror film screening at Surgeons Quarter as a fundraiser for the Cyrenians charity, run by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is hosting a Halloween Movie Night at the Surgeons Quarter on Wednesday 28 October, and it's more than just a film screening. The night is a fundraiser to help tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness, with all proceeds going to the Cyrenians charity. It's one of those mid-week things that works as a low-key way to get into the Halloween spirit while doing something useful for the city.
If you're planning to come, there are two things to keep in mind. First, you need to register in advance to get a spot. Second, the night runs on donations rather than a fixed ticket price, with £5 suggested as a starting point. If you can't make it on the night but still want to contribute, you can donate through the Cyrenians' JustGiving page instead.
The venue is the Surgeons Quarter on Nicolson Street, right in the heart of the Southside, so it's easy to get to from most parts of town. Doors open at 5:45pm, and the film starts at 6:15pm, which means you've got plenty of time to settle in before the lights go down. Since it's a Wednesday, it's an early one—you'll be out and home well before the night gets too late.
