Christmas magic show by Kevin Quantum, blending startling tricks and uplifting mystery with Edinburgh's history and legends, aimed at children aged 8 and over.
Edinburgh's Magical Christmas returns to Lauriston Castle on Sunday 22 November, with magician Kevin Quantum taking the lead. It's a family-friendly afternoon that blends startling tricks and uplifting mystery with Edinburgh's own history and legends, all played out against the atmospheric backdrop of the castle at Christmas.
The venue itself is a good part of the draw. Lauriston Castle is a 16th-century tower house with Victorian extensions and early 20th-century interiors, set in gardens that open with views across the Firth of Forth and house collections left to the city by the castle's last residents. The magic show is just one part of the castle's wider programme, which takes in guided tours, talks, creative workshops, film screenings and family activities throughout the season.
It's aimed at children aged 8 and over, who must be accompanied by an adult, and there are Christmas treats on offer after the show. The show has sold out in previous years, so if you're planning to bring the family, it's worth getting your tickets sorted early rather than leaving it to the last minute.
