Festive show of magic, circus and Christmas chaos from the creators of '1 hour of Insane Magic' at Bristo Square.
The Big Christmas Show runs at Bristo Square from 5 December to 24 December, one of the indoor shows that form part of Edinburgh's Christmas. It's an hour of festive entertainment that pulls together magic, circus and a good deal of Christmas chaos from start to finish. The show comes from the creators of 1 hour of Insane Magic, which earned five stars at the Fringe, so the magic side of things is where they've got their feet on the ground.
On stage you'll find a fair mix of acts to carry the hour. The Trickster Luke Osey hosts the whole thing, and he's joined by the Insane Magician Cameron Gibson, the Queen of Hoops Lily Phoenix and the Renowned Troublemaker Snookie Mono. Between them they cover the magic and the circus, and the 'troublemaker' title suggests the chaos isn't just a side note. It's an indoor show, so it's one of the easier ways to do something festive in the city when the weather turns.
It's part of the wider Edinburgh's Christmas programme, which takes over the city centre with the traditional Christmas Markets, fairground rides, live outdoor events and artisan festive goods from local makers. The whole thing is billed as the ultimate destination for festive family fun, and this show fits right into that. There's an age guidance of 8+, so it's aimed at families rather than the very young.
