A circus spectacular re-imagining of Swan Lake by the Circa company, featuring acrobatics, aerials and humour.
Circa bring Duck Pond to the Festival Theatre on Friday 30 October and Saturday 31 October, a circus re-imagining of Swan Lake created by Yaron Lifschitz and the Circa Ensemble. It's the world's most romantic ballet reworked through the company's signature physicality, cheeky humour and contemporary energy, with a few quirky additions along the way: a sequinned flipper-wearing duck army and a burlesque black swan, alongside sumptuous aerials and jaw-dropping acrobatics. Billed as a tale of identity and finding your true self, the show is described as touching, funny and utterly entertaining. It was co-commissioned by QPAC and The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi, and it's suitable for all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a night out on your own.
There are two performances to choose from: the evening show on Friday 30 October at 7:30pm, and a matinee on Saturday 31 October at 2:30pm. Both run for 75 minutes with no interval, so you're in and out in a little over an hour. Tickets range from £20 to £49, and the venue is the Festival Theatre at 13-29 Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9FT.
