Comedy, burlesque, drag and music show by Eliott Simpson, billed as Scotland's silliest surgeon, following a sold-out run at the 2022 Edinburgh Horror Festival.
Doctor Bonk's Macarbaret is back at The Banshee Labyrinth on Saturday 21 November and Saturday 19 December, both nights running from 19:00 to 20:00. It's the work of comedian Eliott Simpson, who plays the title role: Dr Bonk, billed as Scotland's silliest surgeon, hosting a madcap hour of drag, burlesque, music, comedy and medical mayhem. He's not alone on stage, either — he's joined by an all-sorts of spooky performers and an unseen ghostly narrator.
The show first ran at the 2022 Edinburgh Horror Festival, where it played to sold-out houses. Since then, it's picked up a fair few descriptions from people who've seen it: The Wee Review called it 'offbeat, wacky and unpredictable', Neurodiverse Review described it as 'the most hi-concept MC'ing you'll ever see', and Janey Godley put it as 'weird as f*'. EdfringeReview summed it up as a refreshingly different addition to your must-see comedy list.

If you're planning to go, it's at The Banshee Labyrinth, 29-35 Niddry St, Edinburgh EH1 1LG. Both dates are on a Saturday evening, 19:00 to 20:00, so it's a tight hour rather than a long night. If you're deciding between the two, you've got late November or mid-December to choose from.
