The original cast of The Fast Show reunite on stage to recreate their famous characters and explain how they were created.
The Fast Show are coming to the Edinburgh Playhouse on Sunday 14 February 2027, with the original cast reuniting on stage more than thirty years after the show first aired. It's Simon Day, Charlie Higson, John Thomson, Paul Whitehouse, Mark Williams and Arabella Weir back together, bringing the characters we remember from the TV series to the stage.
If those names ring a bell, it's because they're the ones behind the sketches that stuck around long after the credits rolled. You'll see Suits You Sir, Ted and Ralph, Does My Bum Look Big In This and Competitive Dad — characters that a lot of us grew up with and still quote. The evening works as much as a behind-the-scenes look as a performance: the team explains how the characters and the catchphrases were born and recreates favourite moments, with the cast joking that they can do it all without the need for old-age make-up. It's billed as a celebration of the show's enduring appeal and the laughter it brought to millions.
It's a proper reunion of the original six, rather than a few of them stepping back into old roles. The whole team is on stage together, so you get the full ensemble that made the show work. The evening runs about an hour and a half to two hours, including an interval, so there's plenty of time for both the sketches and the stories behind them.
