An evening with author A.T. Emerald to celebrate the first instalment of her fantasy series Under the Iron Sky.
A.T. Emerald is at Waterstones Edinburgh West End on Thursday 15 October, an evening to mark the first instalment of her new fantasy series, Under the Iron Sky.
It's a first-book launch, so the night is built around the series' opening volume. The story is set in Vordell, a world where people once learned to harness and control the power of Light, until the darkness of the Iron Sky returned the Dar'rak and plunged everything into war. The plot follows Soraya Tollmere, a high-ranking human commander on the front lines, who crosses paths with a Dar'rak defector and is later captured by The Demon, the Dar'rak's most feared soldier. As she hunts for a weapon that could turn the tide of the war, the lines between interrogator and enemy begin to blur. Emerald describes it as a darkly seductive and all-consuming story, and the evening is a chance to hear more about the world of Vordell and the characters she's built around it.
