Stand-up comedy show by Alan Davies, marking his return to the stage after a decade.
Alan Davies is back on stage at the King's Theatre on Thursday 22 October, his first stand-up show in a decade. It's called Think Ahead, and it marks a return to the live circuit after ten years away from the spotlight of a comedy tour.
Most of us know him from the screen. He's the eponymous hero of David Renwick's long-running Jonathan Creek and a permanent fixture on QI, and his own talk show, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, ran for seven seasons. He's also done acting on the side, winning Best Actor in a Drama at the Monte Carlo Television Awards for his role as Bob in Bob and Rose back in 2001. But before the TV work took over, he was a stand-up. He started in 1988, came second in the 1989 City Limits New Act of the Year, was named Time Out's Best Young Comic in 1991, and made his network television debut on Tonight with Jonathan Ross in 1992. His previous shows, Urban Trauma, Life is Pain and Little Victories, sold out across the UK. He's also written two memoirs, with Just Ignore Him coming out in 2020.
