A free neighbourhood walking club where participants learn health tips from a local doctor while walking at their own pace and earning prizes.
Walk With a Doc is back at the Dodge Community Center on Saturday, October 24, from 9 AM to 10 AM. It's a neighborhood walking club run through the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, and the whole thing is free.
The format is pretty straightforward: you walk and talk with a local doctor, who shares health tips and answers questions while you're on the move. It's a way to pick up some health knowledge in a casual setting rather than sitting in a waiting room. You set your own pace and your own distance, so you can keep it easy or push yourself a bit—whatever works for you. Along the way, you'll meet other people from the neighborhood, and there are prizes to earn as you go.
On the morning of the 24th, the group gathers by the front benches of the community center, so that's where you'll find everyone before the walk gets underway. It's a good spot to stretch out and get settled before heading out. If you're not used to walking with a group, it's a low-pressure way to start: you don't have to keep up with anyone but yourself, and the focus is as much on the conversation as it is on the steps.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Columbus and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
