Monthly art walk with gallery exhibitions, street performers, food and drinks in the Short North Arts District.
Short North Gallery Hop returns to the Short North Arts District on Saturday, November 7, from 4 to 8 PM. It's one of the longest-running arts events in the country, a tradition that's been going since 1984, and it's free to attend.
For those who haven't been, the whole district turns into a collaborative exhibition opening. Galleries spotlight Ohio-based artists alongside nationally and internationally acclaimed work, and you'll find open studios and non-traditional exhibit spaces mixed in. It's not just about the walls, either: street performances, live music, dance, vendors and public art fill the route, and local businesses put out specials and events for the night. The whole neighborhood gets behind it, drawing thousands of visitors each month to what's called the 'Art + Soul of Columbus.'
This year, the district is also promoting 'Hops on High,' a new communal seasonal series marking 40 years of Gallery Hop, built as the largest pedestrian-only experience in Central Ohio. It's a good time to see how the neighborhood has grown around the event.
