Crochet club for tweens to bring their projects to the library and crochet with a group, with yarn provided by the library.
Tweens Create: Crochet Club meets at the Whetstone branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library on Thursday, October 29, from 4 PM to 5 PM. It's a simple setup: you bring whatever crochet project you're currently working on and spend an hour working on it alongside a group of other kids. If you're just starting out or don't have your own supplies, the library provides the yarn, so you don't have to worry about having everything sorted before you walk through the door.
The club is for tweens, ages 9 to 12, which puts it right in that middle ground where kids are old enough to handle their own projects but still young enough to enjoy a group activity after school. Since it's a bring-your-own-project kind of thing, it works whether you're halfway through a scarf, starting a small animal, or just messing around with a few rows of something new. The whole point is the social side of it—crocheting with other people rather than tucked away in your room.

If you've got a kid in that age range who's into crafting, it's a low-pressure way to get them out of the house and around other kids their age. And since the library handles the yarn, you don't need to be a pro or have a full kit ready to go. The Whetstone branch is at 3909 North High Street in Columbus, and the session runs from 4 PM to 5 PM on Thursday, October 29.
