Paint and sip class with a fall night, bat theme and Headless Horseman-inspired image, plus a DIY candle add-on.
Pinot's Palette is hosting a paint-and-sip class called Going Batty on Saturday, October 24, from 8:30 to 10:30 PM at their Short North studio, 691 North High Street, Suite 101. It's a late-night session that leans into the spooky season: the painting is a fall night scene with bats, and the studio encourages you to embrace the creepy-cool aesthetic. The image itself is inspired by the Headless Horseman, so expect a mood that's more haunted forest than cozy autumn.
If you've never done a paint-and-sip, the format is pretty straightforward. You get a canvas, the paint, and a guided walkthrough to help you build the image. The studio describes the experience as being for first-time painters and experienced artists alike, so you don't need any background in art to show up and finish a piece. Upbeat music runs through the night, and there's a full bar with beer, wine, wine-based cocktails, and mocktails. You're also welcome to bring your own food or snacks if you want something to graze on while you work.
There's an optional add-on for this one: for $25, you can pour your own all-natural soy candle. If you go for it, you'll need to arrive 30 minutes early to get your candle set before the painting starts, so that's something to keep in mind when you're planning your night. Between the painting and the candle, you'll leave with two things for your home instead of just one.
