Hands-on electronics workshop for children aged 10+ to build a ghost gadget that squeals when you clap.
The Centre for Computing History is running an electronics workshop for children on Thursday 29 October, called Electronics Lab: Meet Stinky, Our Friendly Ghost. It's aimed at kids aged 10 and up, and the whole thing runs from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
The session is a hands-on one: you'll be building a ghost gadget that squeals when you clap. The ghost is called Stinky, and the idea is that you get to put it together yourself rather than just watching someone else do it. It's a good way to get a bit of electronics under your belt, and since it's a workshop, you'll be working through it over the course of the afternoon.
One of the best bits is that you don't leave empty-handed. The Ghostie Gadget kit is included, so you take home whatever you've built. If you've got a kid who's always taking things apart or asking how they work, this is exactly the kind of thing they'll get a kick out of.

It's held at The Centre for Computing History, which is over at Rene Court, Coldhams Road, Cambridge, CB1 3EW. The price is £41, and that covers admission for one child with an accompanying adult, as well as the kit to take home. It runs from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursday 29 October.
