Live music gig featuring high-energy punk rock covers by Punk Rock Factory, with support from Call It Off.
Punk Rock Factory are playing Thekla on Thursday 15 October, with Call It Off on the bill too. It's a double bill of punk rock on a Thursday night, so you've got two bands to get through before the night wraps up.
If you're not familiar with them, Punk Rock Factory aren't a traditional band in the sense that they write and record their own albums. They're a punk cover band, and that's exactly what they do: they take songs from other artists and run them through a punk filter. They describe themselves as high-energy punk rock powerhouses who make easy work of their special brand of punk covers, and that's a fair summary of how they operate. The whole thing is built around taking songs you probably know and playing them fast and loud, with the energy of a punk gig rather than a tribute act.
Call It Off are sharing the bill, so you'll get two sets in one evening. Between the two of them, there's plenty of ground to cover, and the pairing fits the night's punk focus. If you're into that side of things, it's a straightforward way to see two bands in one go.
