Improvisation workshop led by Jon Trevor, director of the Birmingham Improv Festival, to hone group awareness and leadership.
Jon Trevor is running an improv workshop at MAC Birmingham on Friday 6 November, part of the Birmingham Improv Festival 2026. It's a three-hour session, and the title is We are the Borg - resistance is futile!.
Trevor is a familiar name in the city's improv scene. He's been teaching and performing for sixteen years and runs Birmingham Improv, where he holds classes and drop-ins and hosts and performs in shows. He founded, directs and performs with Box of Frogs, Birmingham's longest-running shortform improv group, and co-founded and performs with the longform group Breakfast of Champions. He's also taught at improv festivals across Italy, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Liverpool and Devon.
The workshop itself focuses on honing group awareness, sensitivity and strong leadership and followership, aiming for the point of 'telepathy and magic'. It's one of the sessions within the wider Birmingham Improv Festival 2026, a festival Trevor has directed for the last six editions.
