Guided tour led by Lee Perkins of the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, screen-matching scenes from 'Peaky Blinders', 'Silent Witness' and other TV and film productions to its locations.
The Locationist is running BMAG on Film at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery on selected Sundays, with the next date listed for Sunday 1 November. It's a bespoke tour of the museum's iconic buildings and the film and TV locations tucked inside them, led by Lee Perkins, who founded The Locationist after nearly 20 years as a BBC and ITV tour guide and a CBBC events presenter. He's also worked as a supporting artist on numerous productions, so he knows both sides of the camera.
The tour takes you into parts of the gallery that aren't usually open to the public, including the rooms used for key scenes in the Netflix film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. From there, it points out where scenes from the BBC's Silent Witness and The Game, Amazon Prime's Citadel, The Colour Room, and KingsMan: The Golden Circle were filmed. Perkins screen-matches the scenes to the locations using screen-grab photographs and shares anecdotes from filming on site, so you can see exactly how a room you're standing in was transformed for the screen.
