Paranormal-themed ghost tour of The Alexandra Theatre, following the venue's History Tours tradition, on its Creative Learning strand.
The Alexandra Theatre is running a Post-show Ghost Tour on Wednesday 28 October and Friday 30 October, two dates that sit on either side of Halloween. It's a backstage walk through the building, and as the name suggests, it's focused on the paranormal side of things.
Most of us know the theatre as 'The Alex', one of Birmingham's oldest and best-loved venues. It first opened on 27 May 1901 and seats around 1,350 across the stalls, dress circle and upper circle, which makes it one of the largest touring theatres in the Midlands. It's a receiving house rather than a producing one, so it spends the year hosting a packed programme of West End touring productions. The ghost tour sits under the theatre's 'Creative Learning' strand and follows in the tradition of the venue's History Tours, which take visitors backstage through the building's 125 years of past. This one just leans into the spookier side of that history.
If you've never been backstage at The Alex, it's a different world from the auditorium. You'll be moving through the wings and the corridors that the public never sees, the kind of spaces where the theatre's daily life happens out of sight. The tour is built around the venue's long history, so expect to hear about the people and the stories that have stuck around long after the curtains closed. It's a good fit for the time of year, especially with the dates falling just before and after Halloween.

Tickets are £18.00, and you can pick from Wednesday 28 October or Friday 30 October, so there's a midweek option if you're not keen on a Friday night crowd. The theatre is at Suffolk Queensway, Birmingham B5 4DS.
