A fifteen-minute guided walk-through led by an Ikon team member, focusing on a single key work from the gallery's current exhibition, held every Sunday at 3pm.
Ikon Gallery is starting its Sunday Spotlight Tour on 18 October, and it's a regular thing that runs every Sunday through to 14 February. Each tour is a fifteen-minute walk-through led by a member of the Ikon team, and rather than trying to cover the whole exhibition, it focuses on a single key work. It's a short, focused look at one piece, so you can get a proper handle on it without needing to spend your whole afternoon there.
If you're not already familiar, Ikon Gallery is an internationally acclaimed contemporary art venue in a Victorian building in Brindleyplace. It's a registered charity with free entry, supported by public funding through the National Lottery via Arts Council England. The gallery does a fair bit more than just exhibitions, too: its Art in Prisons programme runs artist residencies in HMP Grendon, HMP Spring Hill and HMP Birmingham, and the Ikon Youth Programme takes to the waterways on Slow Boat, a converted narrow boat that doubles as a local art school.

The spotlight tours run every Sunday from 3.00pm to 3.15pm, starting in the Ikon foyer. They're free, with a suggested donation of £5, and there's no need to book. Since they run every Sunday until mid-February, you can drop in whenever suits you best.
