Free drop-in session led by Gethin Spiller of Science Made Simple, with fun demonstrations and hands-on experiments on the science behind Halloween and witchcraft.
Science Made Simple are taking over Thinktank on Tuesday 27 October for Spooky Science, a day that looks at the science behind Halloween and witchcraft. It's a drop-in session, so you can turn up whenever suits you between 11am and 3pm, rather than committing to a fixed start time. You'll find it on Level 2, in the Find Your Future gallery.
Leading the day is Gethin Spiller, an award-winning busker from Science Made Simple. He'll be taking visitors on a Halloween journey of discovery, unpicking the surprising science behind things that usually seem magical. The session leans into the season's mysteries, exploring the science behind Halloween and witchcraft through a mix of demonstrations and hands-on experiments. It's a casual drop-in rather than a formal show, so you can drift in and out as you please.

Because it's a drop-in, it's a good one for a half-term day when you're already out and about in the city. You don't need to book a specific slot or buy a separate ticket for the activity itself—it's included with your Thinktank admission. If you're planning a day at the museum, you can just head up to Level 2 whenever you fancy it. It runs from 11am to 3pm on Tuesday 27 October at Thinktank Birmingham.
