Monthly 50-minute pilates session run by Graft Pilates in the Pre-Raphaelite Galleries, with early-morning access and a complimentary drink in the Museum Tearooms.
Graft Pilates run a monthly Pilates session inside the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, and the next one is on Sunday 13 December. It's a 50-minute class that starts at 9:00am, and it's held in the Pre-Raphaelite Galleries, so you'll be moving, stretching and strengthening beneath world-class Pre-Raphaelite paintings. The whole thing is run by Birmingham's own Graft Pilates, and it's designed for all levels, whether you're a regular or just starting out.
The real draw here is the early-morning access. The class finishes before the museum opens to the general public, so you've got the galleries to yourself for a bit before the crowds arrive. Once you've finished, there's a complimentary drink in the Museum Tearooms included in the ticket, which makes for a decent way to wind down before the rest of the city wakes up. It's a nice way to get some movement in and see some art at the same time, without having to fight through the usual weekend bustle.

Logistically, it's straightforward: mats are provided, so you don't need to lug your own across town. Spaces are limited, though, and advance booking is essential. The session runs on the last Sunday of every month at 9:00am, and the one on Sunday 25 October is already sold out, which is why the 13 December date is the one to keep an eye on. It's £20 for adults, and you'll enter the museum via the Gas Hall lift to get to the Pre-Raphaelite Galleries.
