Screening of the 1993 Halloween classic 'Hocus Pocus' at MAC Birmingham, with pay-what-you-choose tickets.
MAC Birmingham is screening Hocus Pocus on Saturday 31 October, just in time for Halloween. It's a proper afternoon session, starting at 2:00pm in Cannon Hill Park, so you'll be out of the cinema and home well before the evening's festivities kick off.
If you've never seen it, Hocus Pocus is a 1993 Halloween classic set in Salem, Massachusetts. A teenager accidentally summons three 17th-century witches—played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy—who set out to cast a spell over the town and reclaim their youth. They're outwitted by three kids and a talking cat, and it's exactly the kind of family-friendly, slightly spooky movie that fits the date. Kenny Ortega directed it, and it runs an hour and 51 minutes including trailers and adverts.
The screening is part of MAC's 'Pay what you choose' programme, which is run by the registered arts charity. The ticket income goes back into supporting more arts and cultural experiences for local communities, so whatever you decide to pay helps keep that going. If you're struggling, anyone can contact their Sales and Events team to arrange a free ticket.
